6 day tour in Puglia as a real Local
This immersive journey is designed to give you a complete overview of the wonders of this beautiful region in southern Italy, offering a perfect mix of history, culture, and gastronomy. Furthermore, you will experience unique opportunities that will allow you to explore in depth the hidden treasures and deep-rooted traditions of Puglia.
DAY 1
Arrive in Bari and check in at the hotel. Afterwards, meet with the guide for an overview of the city's main buildings. In the charming old town, you will enjoy a unique culinary experience with street food at points of interest, where you will taste cured meats, cheeses, focaccia, and panzerotti. Finally, the tour will conclude in the French part of Bari. Return to the hotel.
DAY 2
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Altamura. Here, together with the guide, you will explore the medieval historic center and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. Subsequently, a gastronomic experience awaits you to discover the techniques of bread preparation and a rich tasting of local products at a historic bakery. In the afternoon, arrival in Matera for a guided tour of the Sassi, a UNESCO heritage site and European Capital of Culture 2019. Return to the hotel.
DAY 3
Breakfast at the hotel and guided tour of the medieval village of Conversano and its castle. Following this, there will be a cooking class in a historic villa, allowing you to savor the prepared dishes. Afterwards, departure for Alberobello to admire the trulli, a UNESCO heritage site, and experience the fairytale atmosphere of the town. Return to the hotel.
DAY 4
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Castellana Grotte. Visit the spectacular Castellana caves, among the most fascinating underground cavities in Italy. Subsequently, after a free lunch, transfer to Polignano a Mare. You will explore the charming marine caves with a 7-meter boat, accompanied by professional skippers, and enjoy an aperitif on board. Finally, you will have free time to visit the historic center of Polignano. Return to the hotel.
DAY 5
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Ostuni, the famous "white city." Guided tour of the city and transfer to a farmhouse for a visit to the olive mill and tasting of extra virgin olive oil. Afterwards, tour of the historic center of Locorotondo and visit to a local winery for a tasting of zero-kilometer wines, directly from the vineyard just visited. Therefore, you will experience an authentic taste of Puglia. Return to the hotel.
DAY 6
Breakfast, check-out and departure for the airport.
