With this guide to Alberobello and Matera, you will visit the two UNESCO World Heritage sites in complete autonomy. Matera, the city of the Sassi and European Capital of Culture 2019, and Alberobello, the highest expression of Puglia in the world, a fairy-tale charm that enchants visitors. Itinerary of the day
Movements will be communicated via email or WhatsApp to the number indicated in the booking.
- 8:00 am, meeting with the bus in Polignano a Mare in Via Grazia Deledda, 8.
- 9:00 am, meeting with the bus in Bari, Largo Eroi del Mare, in front of the Statue of Giuseppe Mazzini.
- 10:00 am, arrival in Matera, free time.
- Meeting in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, in front of the Ferdinandea Fountain.
- 2.00pm, the bus will leave from the bus stop Viale Aldo Moro, 16, Matera – in front of Banca Mediolanum.
- Arrival in Alberobello, free time.
- Meeting in front of the Terra Mossa Restaurant, Alberobello.
- 5.30pm/6.00pm, the bus will leave from the “Check Point” Bus Parking – Alberobello.
- Rientro a Polignano a Mare (18:30 circa) e Bari (19:00 circa).
Maximum punctuality is recommended, the bus cannot wait beyond the indicated times!

📍 Palombaro lungo
Located in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, it was once used to collect rainwater. It is an impressive feat of engineering not to be missed.
📍 Belvedere Luigi Guerricchio o dei “Tre Archi”
Panoramic terrace with portico (considered by many to be the best observation point in the city); from here you can admire the tangle of lanes of Sasso Barisano.
📍 Cathedral Basilica of Matera “Maria Santissima della Bruna”
It stands on the Civita hill, the highest part of the historic center. It offers an unparalleled view of the Sassi and houses splendid frescoes and decorations.
📍 Sasso Caveoso
A tangle of alleys, stairways and houses dug into the rock, where time seems to have stopped.

📍 Rione Monti
The most famous neighborhood of Alberobello, known for the concentration of over 1000 trulli. Walking among these typical buildings is an unmissable experience.
📍 Trullo Sovrano (paid entry)
The only two-storey trullo in Alberobello. Today it is a museum that tells the story and culture of the city.
📍 Church of Sant'Antonio
The only trullo-shaped church, located at the top of the Monti district. The church has a characteristic conical dome and represents a curious example of sacred architecture inspired by the trulli tradition.
📍 Casa d’Amore
This was the first building built immediately after the end of feudal rule, built with "free" materials, without respecting the obligation to use only dry stone as for the trulli. Today it hosts temporary exhibitions and cultural events.
📍 Belvedere Santa Lucia
To admire Alberobello in all its splendor, a visit here is a must. From this panoramic point, the trulli extend as far as the eye can see.
📍 Museo del Territorio – Casa Pezzolla
It is located within a complex of 15 communicating trulli. Here it is possible to discover life in the trulli and learn about the history of the region. A visit here is ideal for understanding the culture and traditions of the Itria Valley
